BALDOWRAN LEWIS - Is our little lanky Clydesdale Colt, He's to make 17.2hh. Born on the 17/07/2013.

This page is made for him so you can see his progress over the years from 6 months old, he's a bright bay colt with 4 socks and a blaze, unusual lightning stripe that going up his leg which makes him extra special to us.

This is Lewis at only 6 months old and just weaned from his Dam. As you can see he was a nervous little lad.

Lewis's Sire : Alfie

Lewis's Dam: Rosie

The Day After Lewis Arrived

He was a scared little boy at almost 10 months old.

As you can see in the picture he had little top line, skinny bum and gut. we had a lot of work to do.

One Week Later

 Lewis at 12 Months old

Look at the Difference !

He's turning into a proper Clydesdale, lost his Fluffy coat and growing between each visit.

Still Has a bit of top line to go but he now loves attention and kisses. Acts more like a dog than a horse.

Last measurement was 14.1hh

So Proud of him.

Next Step -

Getting him Used to Rugs & Lifting His Hooves.

Progress with Rugs

He has had his rug on and off now several times and getting better each time we do it, very proud of this little lad, He was a 5'9" when we started training him with rugs and in two weeks he's now a size 6ft in rugs.

Picking up his feet

Well we can lift his front legs very well and he holds them for a few seconds so getting better, started his back legs and he lifts but doesn't relax yet but he's getting there slowly but surely. He has shown that much progress im confident he wont be too bad getting trimmed by the Farrior for the first time.

Look at the Size and Build of Him!

He has matured into a stunning 14 month old colt, not quite at the weight we want but a lot better than before. Not measured him in a while but I suspect he's almost 15hh by now.

That's my mother Brenda Murray beside him giving him a big kiss, she's 5ft 6 so that might give you a better idea of his height.

He is one happy little Colt now and I'm so glad we bought him, Our first Clydesdale and has turned out to be a dream to own.
Lewis is now 3yo, was gelded at 2yo. Now he is standing at 16.3hh, Hes getting big !
Backed Lewis for the first time !
Lewis is now 5yo, still standing at 16.3hh and we backed him a few more times.

He went to the Campsie show and got 2nd place in the Clydesdale Gelding Class out of 3 contesters, then the following week he went to the Stirling Show and got 1st Place in the Clydesdale Gending Class with no other contester.. but im not tellling Lewis that :) hehe
This is Lewis having a peek out the trailer watching the competition haha :D

He loads and unloads from the trailer with no issues. Such a good boy
As an extra special surprise for Lewis we bought his mother, he hasnt seen her since weaning, this photo below was their introduction. She tried to bite him... full video on our facebook pages: Murray Stables & Murrays Clydesdales.
